Hi, I'm Liz
Family and portrait Photographer
I am a natural light seeker, nature loving, outdoorsy (disliker of mosquitos), boy mom, who loves being active in my kids' lives. I'm a former teacher, who has the privilege of staying home with my boys now! I love hiking, exploring with my family, water sports, winter activities, crafting and being a goofball. I am a patio enthusiast who would eat any and all meals outside when the weather is nice.
I fell in love with photography at a young age, after playing with cameras handed down to me by my dad and uncle. I have photographed animals, plants, landscapes, nature and architecture. But people are my favorite. I love telling your stories with photos.
My approach

My aunt, my name-sake, godmother and inspiration for keeping tradition alive, was always behind the camera, capturing special moments. At times we thought she took too many pictures. Is there such a thing though? Looking back at all the photos she took, allows me to be right back at that specific moment. I can hear splashes in the lake, my uncle groaning about holding onto a fish for too long - until she got 'the perfect' shot, and my mom telling us kids to 'smile nice'- even though we were sucking a wiggly tooth in and out, or moving, which would cause a blurry photo.
I want to carry on that tradition and capture your memories. I want you to look back at your photos and remember the way your littles used to scrunch your hand, or smile a toothy little grin.
I love getting to know my clients a head of time. This way we can feel connected before our session. I'm happy to meet with you beforehand (via online video chat or in person), help you choose outfits, gather your ideas for photos and set you up for a successful photo session by walking you through what to expect.
Most importantly I go with the flow. My background as a special education teacher, helps me to be calm in the chaos. I also have two boys, so not much phases me anymore!
Tantrums? Been there.
Fell and scraped your knee getting out of the car before your session- yep, done that too. (that's what photoshop is for!)
Older kid refusing to smile? I've got you!
Sweating profusely? (Tissues -- I won't tell a soul!)
I'll dance, sing, tell jokes, or whatever it takes to get those genuine smiles from you.
I want you to enjoy our session together. Leave the stressing to me!
